Fédération Française de Cardiologie Nord – Pas de Calais

The French Federation of Cardiology Nord – Pas de Calais was the first to develop a program of information and prevention actions focused on cardiovascular diseases in women. It began in early 2010 and includes conferences, forums, screening booths and more.

The Nord – Pas de Calais Cardiology Association is one of the 26 regional cardiology associations that make up the French Federation of Cardiology. Prof. Claire Mounier-Vehier, MD, is the president of the association, which leads prevention and information activities in both departments. It’s represented locally by twenty Heart and Health Clubs in the largest cities. The association leads the Hauts-de-France heart races that brought together 350,000 participants in the region in 2019: 100,000 in general public races organized in 550 municipalities and 250,000 in school races, representing nearly 9,000 classes from 1,400 schools.

The French Federation of Cardiology Nord – Pas de Calais was the first to develop a program of information and prevention actions focused on cardiovascular diseases in women. It began in early 2010 and includes conferences, forums, screening booths and more.

French Federation of Cardiology Nord – Pas de Calais works with Women’s Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation to implement information and prevention activities in its area.

The two organizations are also partnering to set up a cardiovascular risk pathway for women in menopause or perimenopause with ARS and URPS Hauts-de-France. The pathway will improve women’s overall healthcare while developing multidisciplinary teams mainly composed of cardiologists, gynecologists, general practitioners, pharmacists and midwives.
