There’s a BEFORE and an AFTER. For a number of years, I suffered from an arrhythmia. Despite an electric shock and medications, I was having more and more episodes lasting longer each time. At 68 years of age, I was unable to plan activities, an outing or even accept an invitation because of my palpitations, extreme fatigue and nausea. In early 2018, my cardiologists talked with me about radiofrequency ablation and explained the benefits and risks. In February 2018, he did this ablation. I was rather anxious about it in the beginning since I’d been informed of the potential risks, but I quickly got back to a normal life! Water aerobics, walking, biking and going to the fitness center are now part of my schedule. I’m so grateful to the cardiologists who’ve enabled me to LIVE AGAIN! My cardiologist told me about the work of Women’s Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation and I agreed to share my story to alert women about this disease so they can listen to their own symptoms, anticipate them and act to prevent complications.
