The benefits of cuddling

placeholder image

When a cuddle lasts around twenty seconds, it produces a hormone called "oxytocin", which has numerous benefits for our physical and mental health.

In particular, it helps us relax, feel safe and calm our fears and anxieties. Cuddling is a highly effective tranquilizer, with no side effects and completely free of charge.

This natural soothing is offered to us every time we hug someone, cradle a child, pet a dog or cat, dance with our partner or simply hold a friend by the shoulders.

Why not enjoy it even more?
