Syndicat National des Cardiologues

In France, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women. Most of these deaths could be avoided if the screening pathway were properly defined, access to care facilitated and the pathways coordinated.

This shortcoming in the organization of our healthcare system is one of the challenges facing the Syndicat National des Cardiologues (S.N.C.), which advocates the transformation of the profession of cardiologist, giving priority on the one hand to assisted work (delegation of activity with medical assistants, and transfer of activity with advanced practice nurses...) and on the other hand to coordination through specialized care teams and the Communauté Professionnelle Territoriales de Santé (C.P.T.S.).

Even if our priority is the follow-up and management of patients with heart disease, we must not forget cardiovascular prevention for women, especially the most vulnerable, in order to listen to the female population, who tend to minimize symptoms such as those of myocardial infarction.

"Women are the future of men", and it's thanks to prevention in particular that Aragon's phrase will remain true.

The S.N.C. supports the "Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes" (A.C.F.) endowment fund, which, through its awareness-raising, mobilization and support initiatives, will encourage women to seek advice and take better care of themselves at the three key stages of their hormonal lives (contraception, pregnancy and menopause). To support this initiative, the S.N.C. will be offering training courses for cardiologists in the towns involved, via its FormatCoeur training organization.
