Al Jalila Foundation is a global philanthropic organization dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education and treatment. We were founded by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in April 2013 to position the region at the forefront of medical innovation. Al Jalila Foundation promotes medical education and research to nurture a home-grown generation of healthcare professionals who will be capable of anticipating and addressing health challenges prevalent in the region. In 2017, we opened the Foundation’s Research Center in Dubai Healthcare City. Its researchers focus on five public health priorities for the region: cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and mental health. At the Al Jalila Foundation, we’re creating an ecosystem that connects international best practices and expertise with the most renowned local experts in order to make fast and concrete progress on addressing these national health priorities.
