What are the first steps when a patient arrives at the emergency department? Are older people managed differently way? What is the medical follow-up after a heart attack? What is cardiac rehabilitation? How can I manage the anxiety of a possible recurrence? Can I start driving again after a heart attack? What are the specific symptoms for women?
Before the age of 65, heart attacks are still more frequent in men, while rates become more even after 65. However, changing lifestyles have led to a sharp increase in hospitalizations for heart attacks among young women, with a 5% increase among 45- to 54-year-olds. We created Women’s Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation to Alert, Anticipate and Act on this social reality that deserves our full attention.
