Physical activity is even more important during menopause

It's important to vary your sporting activities as you enter menopause, to preserve your bones and heart and avoid fat accumulation.

Physical activity is even more important during menopause

You need to :

- Practice endurance exercises that prevent cardiovascular risk (lower blood pressure, cholesterol, risk of developing diabetes, risk of weight gain). Fat gain is different from menopause onwards: it is more concentrated in the abdominal area and is extremely inflammatory. It produces hormones that have a deleterious effect on the arteries. Endurance exercise may not help you lose weight, but it does significantly reduce abdominal fat.

-
Staying active as you enter menopause can drastically and positively alter your quality of life, and make a big difference to healthy aging. A study from the University of Sydney reveals a significant link between regular exercise in middle age and physical health later in life, even when the exercise routine only began in the mid-fifties.
