Women's Heart Day: 5 first steps to serve the regions

As the Bus du Coeur entered its 4th season,
Agir Pour le Cœur des Femmes simultaneously launched the first 5 experimental stages of Women's Heart Day in March.
This initiative is mainly organized in health centers, to take advantage of the logistical and human resources available on site.
475 women have already benefited from this 6-stage cardiovascular and gynaecological screening program.

Women's Heart Day: 5 first steps to serve the regions

To complement the Women's Heart Bus and take further action against gender inequalities in health, Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes has been working for the past year to set up a second cardiovascular screening and prevention operation in the regions, this time in healthcare establishments and facilities: Women's Heart Day. The aim of this initiative is to demystify the hospital and bring prevention within its walls. "We no longer go to hospital just to be treated, because it could be serious, but also to be screened and avoid getting sick". Pr Claire Mounier-Véhier and Thierry Drilhon, the two co-founders, have thus matured the project, advancing month after month in the elaboration and concrete implementation of this new field action aimed at women's health. Thanks to an enriched team, the project gradually took shape, culminating in the inauguration on March 7 and 8 in Marseille, where the AP-HM hosted the first of 5 experimental stages of the Journées du Cœur des Femmes at the Timone and Hôpital Nord hospitals.
A wide range of host establishments
More than 60 women had access to this treatment program at the university hospital. And so as not to forget anyone, to cover the vast majority of the country and to enable all types of establishments to welcome us, we also responded to requests from the Sorella multidisciplinary health center in Issy-les-Moulineaux and the Sur-Moreau SSR clinic in Saintes. Over 150 women were screened on these two days.
Not forgetting three days dedicated to women's health in its entirety, organized by the Valenciennes Hospital on the former Wallers-Arenberg mining site.
Finally, because France also means the Outremers, we visited New Caledonia, south of Nouméa, where the town of Montdore organized a screening day with its health professionals. 60 Caledonian women were able to benefit from our action.

The next stage...
After these first five stages, we are now analysing the areas for improvement. The Valenciennes and Brignoles CPTS (territorial health professional communities) will welcome us on May 25, then we'll be at the Menton Hospital on June 4. Then, in September, we'll be off to the Centre hospitalier régional de Metz, Pessac, Privas, Cahors, Lille, Chalon-sur-Saône and even Martinique.
