The right amount of sleep

The right amount of sleep

Good sleep is an asset to good health. The ideal length of sleep is 7 hours a night. Every hour less or more reduces the health benefits.

Sleeping seven hours a night reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by almost 20%, optimizes memory and increases resistance to infection, according to a British study of 480,000 people.

A few simple recommendations to improve our sleep
1. Turn off all screens at least one hour before bedtime.
2. Keep your bedroom temperature between 16 and 19°C.
3. Make sure your bedroom is completely dark at night.
4. Avoid television, work, meals... in the bedroom.
5. Do not consume caffeine after 2 p.m. and limit alcohol in the evening.
6. Combat anxiety... without sleep after twenty minutes, resume a monotonous activity, such as reading, until you feel tired.
7. Eat dinner at least three hours before bedtime
