"They say the heart governs reason. That it's the organ that gives us willpower and courage.
It's probably because it beats within us, almost silently, that we often tend to forget about it.
It's also because we believe it to be indestructible, unstoppable, that we focus the attention of all our passions on its strength. Our work, our love. Women give life, they educate, they raise, they work... But they are also subject to professional stress.
So they're no more immune to cardiovascular accidents than their male counterparts.
Nor are they any more protected from these silent, insidious ailments, which are sometimes difficult to detect.
So it's time to take action to protect their hearts. Join me in raising awareness, providing information and saving women's hearts. Join Agir pour le cœur des femmes, a foundation chaired by Professor Claire Mounier-Vehier, cardiologist, head of the Vascular Medicine and HTA Department at Lille University Hospital, and former President of the French Federation of Cardiology. Its aim: to significantly reduce the number of women suffering from these diseases. There are several million of us. Please help us!
