I carefully read your publications and Pr Claire Mounier-Vehier's posts. Thanks to your alerts on women's hearts, I was able to save one of my friends. 60 years old, smoker, divorced, with stress at work, she regularly complained of a diffuse pain in her back that radiated to her arms, and stomach pains. One trip to the nearest hospital emergency room and she's sent home without an electrocardiogram or blood test... for an anxiety attack. I know how much the hospital is suffering, but my arms are falling off! I beg her and help her find a place to have a cardiac check-up. Despite the difficulties, we manage. Bingo. Abnormal test. She was immediately transferred to Percy Hospital by the Smur. The verdict was in, and the cardiologist who took her for a coronary angiography found that an artery was blocked. Thank you very much. Your posts have taught me that the signs of cardiac distress are not the same in women as in men. Your writings and your alerts in Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes undoubtedly enabled me to save one of my friends. I'm very grateful. I'm not a doctor, nor a paramedic. I'm just an informed citizen, thanks to you. It took a lot of convincing... but I didn't give up! So I just wanted to tell you that even from afar, you are participating in this preventive medicine that is so lacking in our country. At a time when hospital beds are closing due to a shortage of exhausted medical staff, you are giving each and every one of us the chance to take care of ourselves. Prevention is the only salvation! Especially for women, who forget that to help others, you must first take care of yourself. Divorced, having brought up my 2 grown-up children on my own, now faced with the status of carer, caught between all these generations who need me, I know what I'm talking about. Your advice is all the more useful to me. Women need to take charge of their lives. Thank you, your alerts are essential. Thank you, quite simply.
In the spring of 2016, I'm 48 years old. My back hurts regularly, but nothing visible on the X-ray. My doctor tells me to work a bit more standing up, maybe change my mattress and rest, to have less stress. I spend my summer vacations hiking in the Auvergne. I'm pretty out of breath and my [...]
For several years, I’d been having heart rhythm problems lasting an hour at a time, three times per week. Then it increased to four days a week. It was an arrhythmia. Treatment wasn’t helpful. I had palpitations every day even if I wasn’t doing anything other than eating. It was an ordeal. I [...]
“It’s January 2024. A month after giving birth, I wake up with a start. My heart is racing—it’s beating at over 180 beats per minute. This isn’t just a simple flutter; I feel like I’m about to pass out… I’m short of breath, exhausted, and have a persistent cough. But, like many new [...]
