The heart is frozen, as if paralyzed. Top Santé takes a look at tako-tsubo. This acute heart failure can occur in the wake of a strong emotion: an argument, a break-up, surgery, the announcement of a death... If prompt action is taken, it is reversible after hospitalization, treatment and rehabilitation. Recurrences are rare. In nine out of ten cases, tako-tsubo occurs in women, mostly after the menopause. But we're seeing an increasing number of overactive female patients under 50, who want to cure everyone else and tend to forget themselves. They tend to listen to other people's problems, without talking about their own, becoming stress sponges... How can tako-tsubo be prevented? First and foremost by adopting a healthy lifestyle: walk at least 30 minutes a day, sleep well, don't hesitate to take flash naps, cut down on tobacco, alcohol and screens, manage stress with yoga and cardiac coherence exercises...
