Moving from one-off support to a long-term alliance strategy

A few months after his arrival at Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes, Clément Devillers, Head of Resource Development, takes stock and announces his future prospects.

Moving from one-off support to a long-term alliance strategy

What were the priorities of your first few months?
Firstly, to draw up a development plan for the next 3 years, in close collaboration with the co-founders, the Board of Directors and the entire team. This will enable us to finance the strategic objective of Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes: to help save 100,000 lives by 2030. To achieve this, we are structuring our development around four resource segments: corporate philanthropy, public fundraising, philanthropy and donations. This approach should enable us to combine rapid growth with long-term sustainability.

How are your partnerships organized?
Our partners are more than just financial backers: they are real players in our project. Each of them brings a specific added value, whether technical, human or logistical.
For example, Axa Prévention supplies blood pressure monitors to all the women screened on the Heart Bus, to enable them to look after their health in the long term.
In partnership with Philips, we have created a Maison des Explorations Mobiles, enabling women to undergo echodoppler and electrocardiogram examinations in the best possible conditions.
Since this year, Primevère has been offering women screened for breast cancer advice on their diet, through a network of dieticians.
The Clariane Foundation, Aprium, Henner and many other partners mobilize volunteers in every region crossed by the Women's Heart Bus.
With La Poste, a network of 60,000 postal workers is committed to spreading our prevention messages.
The Dassault Group is a fundamental supporter of our research initiatives.
Finally, we benefit from the strategic support of our founding member, the Fondation Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, which has been with us from the outset and plays a key role in our long-term development.

What is your vision for their development?
We're gradually moving from a one-off support approach to a long-term alliance strategy. This means that each partnership is conceived as a collaboration over several years, with a link between health issues and the CSR or HR objectives of companies. The challenge for us is to build a network of companies highly committed to women's cardiovascular health.

What role can employers play in prevention?
Companies have largely understood that their role is no longer just to create value. The health and well-being of their employees are now at the heart of their projects, as they are directly linked to the company's performance and long-term development.
Some companies, such as Clariane, La Poste and Crédit Mutuel, have made this vision part of their raison d'être and have become Mission Companies. Others are actively strengthening their internal occupational health policies.
To support this dynamic, this year we launched the Journée du Cœur des Femmes - Entreprises, an initiative that enables all employers to take concrete action in favor of their teams' health.

Could public donations become an important part of the Foundation's resources?
This is an important area for development. The strength of Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes lies in its ability to rally a broad public around a very concrete, embodied mission. Individual donations can play an important role in diversifying our resources. We are stepping up our fund-raising activities to give everyone the chance to do their bit. It is now possible to organize a fundraising event, for example on the occasion of a birthday, a personal challenge or a corporate event. Our partner Roquette, for example, is organizing a solidarity walk with its employees in aid of Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes.

How can a bequest help the Foundation?
Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes is authorized to receive bequests, donations and life insurance policies. For our supporters, passing on a part of their estate means extending a lifelong commitment. It's a way of showing generosity over time. It's another deeply human way of saving lives beyond one's own. Our role is to accompany each person, with kindness and discretion, to build a transmission project that respects his or her wishes.
