The Women's Heart Bus: an indispensable prevention tool

Almost all women in vulnerable situations combine several cardiovascular risk factors: this is the edifying finding of a study carried out on 1,065 women screened in the 5 towns on the Bus du Coeur des Femmes 2021 tour.

It confirms the validity of the Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes initiative. 73% have abdominal obesity, 43% have uncontrolled high blood pressure, 30% have had no gynaecological check-up for over 3 years... The results of this study are far more alarming than we had anticipated! Well above national averages, they underline the need to pursue and rapidly accelerate the development of this type of action on a larger national scale. The figures need to be reversed at a time when cardiovascular disease is still killing 200 women a day. Covid has played a role in accelerating the onset of cardiovascular disease, delaying diagnosis and accentuating the vulnerability of these women, 81% of whom are more concerned about the health of their loved ones than their own. The Bus du Coeur will visit 20 towns in 2022, starting on March 9.
