The Women's Heart Bus in Six-Fours-les-Plages

374 women benefited from cardiovascular and gynecological screening, thanks to the involvement of 188 volunteers.

The Women's Heart Bus in Six-Fours-les-Plages

During the Women's Heart Bus stopover in Six-Fours-les-Plages from March 11 to 13, 188 volunteers took part in the Health Bus and Village: 8 general practitioners, 6 vascular physicians, 6 pharmacists, 3 cardiologists, 7 gynecologists, 1 pediatrician, 2 midwives, 25 nurses, 3 nurses' aides, 3 masseur-physiotherapists, 11 nursing students, 6 apprentice nurses' aides, 38 volunteers including 20 young firefighters, 9 Village Santé-Bien-être partners.

374 women benefited from a comprehensive 2-hour cardio-gynaecological screening. Participants ranged in age from 16 to 96, with a median age of 55. 6% did not have an attending physician. 54% lived in Six-Fours-les-Plages. 52% were professionally active, 32% retired, 11% looking for work. 55% signed up thanks to the town's publicity campaign. 69 follow-up appointments were scheduled at the Toulon Health Examination Centre, run by the CPAM du Var.

For Six-Fours town council, "this screening has not only helped to identify important medical needs, but has also strengthened prevention and health education initiatives. Its expansion and growing success testify to its vital importance for women's health, and to the need to perpetuate this type of initiative."
