The Journées du Cœur des Femmes return to Arignac in Ariège: She's got it all!

Last June, Françoise Chague, coordinator of the Maison de Santé in Arignac (a town of 725 inhabitants in the Ariège region), wanted to expand the actions she was implementing for "women's hearts". She did some research on the Internet and came across the Fondation Agir pour le cœur des femmes, which was an obvious choice for her! After making contact by telephone with Aurore Noël, head of prevention and territories, it was decided that Françoise Chague would like to set up a Women's Heart Day at her Maison de Santé.

All the health professionals (nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, general practitioners, cardiologists and vascular specialists) were quick to respond, and agreed to organize the Day. In addition, a dermatologist has offered to take part in the event and provide screening for these women. A real plus when you consider how difficult it is to get an appointment.
These professionals are joined by a team of 5 volunteers: women who have recently resumed physical activity and want to help other women take care of their health. A wonderful dynamic is taking shape in this small community!

"Appointment slots sold out in 48 hours"
The day was a huge success, as Françoise explains: "while we hadn't communicated yet, everything was done under the table... In 48 hours, we already had no more available slots."
Over 60 women, aged between 20 and 60, underwent a complete screening. The program included blood pressure, cholesterol, triglyceride and blood sugar levels, weight and abdominal perimeter checks, electrocardiograms, cardiological and gynecological consultations, and an echodoppler.

The day was appreciated by all: women and health professionals alike. The team is already thinking about what to do next.
Women's Heart Day can be adapted to all prevention areas, whether urban or rural. Arignac is now fully part of it!
