Better understanding of the close links between mental health and cardiovascular disease can save lives.

Better understanding of the close links between mental health and cardiovascular disease can save lives.

The Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes Foundation warns of the urgent need to better address the close links between mental health and cardiovascular disease, as stipulated in the new recommendations from the European Society of Cardiology.
Mental health disorders (stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc.) remain under-diagnosed as cardiovascular risk factors, even though they are one of the main contributors.
