II: Prevention rather than cure

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, accounting for 200 deaths every day in France. Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes has made the prevention of these pathologies its top priority, because in 8 out of 10 cases, the onset of the disease can be avoided by identifying and treating it appropriately. This observation gave rise to the Women's Heart Bus in September 2021, with the aim of raising awareness of this medico-social emergency among women, the general public, healthcare professionals and public authorities. In 16 months, the Women's Heart Bus has become an emblematic action, supported by the Caisse Nationale d'Assurance Maladie and the French Ministry of Health and Prevention.

The Bus du Cœur des Femmes is a way of reaching out to women who don't take the time to look after their health, and putting them back on a structured healthcare pathway. It also contributes to the creation of a collective intelligence by bringing together local authorities, associations and health professionals, so as to create a sustainable presence in the area.

Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes organizes its action around three pillars:

- Alert: raising awareness among the general public, notably with the Bus du Cœur des Femmes (Women's Heart Bus)
- Anticipate: structured screening on the Women's Heart Bus site, with the creation of a unique national observatory dedicated to women's cardiovascular health.
- Taking action: a care pathway dedicated to the follow-up and reintegration of screened women


Each year, the endowment fund will publish the results of a unique observatory on women's cardiovascular health. This is the most comprehensive medical and social study on the subject, based on thousands of medical records of women screened on the Bus. The results will be published in March 2023.
