The Women's Heart Bus arrives in Le Havre on September 13, 2022

After 9 stops across France and a well-deserved summer break, the Women's Heart Bus will be making its way to Le Havre. In the fight against cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women, the Bus will be setting up

on September 13 and 14, 2022 at the Atrium, 117 avenue du 8 mai 1945.

The Women's Heart Bus will be arriving in Le Havre on September 13, in partnership with the town council and all local health professionals. After visiting almost 15 towns and cities since its launch in 2021, this travelling screening and prevention operation, the largest ever carried out in France, is back on the road for 6 new stops.

This major initiative is being developed by the Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes endowment fund, whose aim is to save the lives of 10,000 women over 5 years.

Cardiovascular disease is still the leading cause of death among women in France, killing 200 French women every day, or 75,000 women a year - the equivalent of the population of Cannes. And yet cardiovascular disease is preventable in 8 out of 10 cases, through screening and appropriate treatment.

The Women's Heart Bus reaches out to the most at-risk populations, women in vulnerable situations, offering them free screening and reintegrating them into a dedicated health pathway.

"The study we carried out among women in vulnerable situations during the 2021 Women's Heart Bus tour showed that 90% of them combine at least two cardiovascular risk factors. This means that, sooner or later, they will become ill if nothing is done to control these risk factors. The mission of the Women's Heart Bus is to give them back the means to take care of their health, by integrating them into a cardio-gynecological care pathway with local healthcare professionals, all volunteers, mobilized around the cause." According to a study by the AXA Prévention association, this is particularly true when it comes to health: 81% of women worry about their loved ones' health before their own. When they are ill, and as long as they are not hindered in their daily lives, 85% of them will first try to look after themselves, and put off going to the doctor. This observation is even truer for women in precarious situations, due to their lack of means and knowledge of the medical environment, which often impresses them.
Because of a lack of follow-up and prevention, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women today. AN EXCEPTIONAL LAUNCH CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 AT 12PM IN THE ATRIUM'S AQUILON ROOM, IN THE PRESENCE OF

THE SYSTEM: BUS DU CŒUR DES FEMMES AND VILLAGE BIEN-ÊTRE & SANTÉ

Pre-registration with the services of the host town organizes access to the screening program, which lasts an average of one hour and fifteen minutes. Follow-up is then organized with the help of the Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie and local health professionals. The aim is to put these at-risk women back on an optimized care pathway. Appointments for specialized consultations are pre-booked for them, and a summary letter is sent to their GP.

A Health and Well-being Village, freely accessible to all, provides a further introduction to prevention, with numerous advice stands (nutrition, family planning, life-saving gestures, women's words, respirology & stress management...).

Screenings are carried out by local health professionals, with preparatory work lasting two to three months to forge links with local players and build up an effective prevention network. Before each stage, they receive training in the specificities of women's cardiovascular risk.

In addition, the Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie, which is contacted in each town, helps to bring certain women's entitlements up to date, and to find them an attending physician if necessary. Women can also take advantage of health support services offered by the Caisse Nationale d'Assurance Maladie's health examination centers.

On September 13 and 14 at the Atrium, the Bus du Coeur des Femmes will be offering a 10-step screening program for women in vulnerable situations, free of charge upon registration by telephone on 02 35 19 45 45 :

1. welcome: presentation of the route and awareness-raising documents, distribution of the screening booklet,
2. interview with a doctor to identify cardiovascular history and warning symptoms
3. cardiovascular risk: blood pressure measurements
4. metabolic risk: measurement of weight, height and abdominal circumference, capillary glucose and lipid levels
5 Addictology: screening interview (alcohol, smoking, etc.)
6 Gynecology: interview and identification of high-risk situations, with a gyneco-obstetrical component.
7 Assessment: summary of screening with a doctor, collection of the screening booklet and proposal of a course of treatment if necessary (letter to the GP, appointments with a cardiovascular doctor and/or gynecologist or midwife, etc.).
8. resting electrocardiogram
9. arterial ultrasound screening for women most at risk
10. a bag containing health information sheets (prevention brochure) and an arm blood pressure monitor (with a demonstration of how it works) supplied by Axa Prévention
