Gynecologists play a key role in women's health. He follows her through all the major stages of her life, from adolescence to pregnancy and menopause.
Each stage has its own specific needs and requirements.
With numerous hormonal treatments in their therapeutic arsenal, gynecologists have long been aware of and interested in cardiovascular risk: cardiovascular risk linked to the pill, cardiovascular risk during pregnancy, cardiovascular risk at menopause.
Because of their privileged position, gynecologists play a key role in primary screening for cardiovascular risk.

The prevention and screening of gynaecological pathologies is an important part of the gynaecologist's practice: screening for breast cancer, cervical cancer and sexually transmitted infections.
Unfortunately, many women, for various reasons (precariousness - inadequate healthcare provision - fear of examination - lack of information, etc.), do not benefit from screening.
This dual cardiovascular-gynecological pathway, which is part of a prevention and screening approach, can only be beneficial for women.
So, yes, let's mobilize to better screen women for cardiovascular risk, and to inform them of the need for gynecological follow-up.

The FNCGM is delighted to be associated with the actions of the Agir pour le Cœur des femmes endowment fund, and in particular with the Bus du Cœur des Femmes national screening campaign, dedicated to "all" these women.
