Christine tells the story of her daughter Céline.
"Céline spoke very early, at 11 months. In kindergarten, she was diagnosed with HPI, and was recommended by her teacher to skip a grade. She had a faultless school career. After business school, she developed a passion for fashion and worked in marketing. She travels a lot for her work and is under a lot of stress, constantly under pressure, with a supervisor who calls on her days off.
One evening, she complains of stomach pains and declines an invitation to go out with one of her friends. She recalls an exhausting week at work.
The next day, her friend discovered her lifeless at home, lying on the floor near her bathroom... She had died at the age of 37, alone in her home. The autopsy report revealed a natural death due to a heart attack.
Céline smoked and took the pill. During the Christmas holidays, she told us that she and her boyfriend wanted to become parents.
She was a sunny person, a lover of life and music, a good listener, generous, concerned for the well-being of others, loyal in friendship. Eventually, she wanted to leave Paris and move to the Basque country, where she had many friends.
I miss her terribly.
Contraception with synthetic estrogens, plus smoking and stress, are risk factors for heart attacks in young women. They activate clot formation. Stress also favours the onset of coronary dissection, an almost exclusively female pathology. The pain described is one of the symptoms associated with the territory of the diseased artery.
