"My family background led me to take preventive cardiology treatment. At the age of 46, my father suffered a stroke, followed by arteriopathic dementia. My mother should have had triple bypass surgery and suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Unfortunately, she died before the operation. My older brother, who was very athletic, underwent triple coronary bypass (open-heart surgery). My second brother had two ischemic strokes, and was finding it increasingly difficult to walk. He was fitted with seven stents.
So it seemed normal to me to be screened, even though I had absolutely no symptoms. So I felt pretty confident and at peace because, unlike the rest of my family, I had a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.
My cardiologist gave me a complete check-up. The coronary angiography revealed that my coronaries were more than 70% blocked and that I was therefore at high risk.
Within two weeks, I was fitted with three stents. At that point, I was afraid.
Afraid, in retrospect, of what might have happened to me.
My cardiologist explained to me that it was genetic, hence the importance of good follow-up. So, don't wait until you have symptoms to take action, then it may be too late."

For many years, my work and professional commitment to children and their families had been exciting, but extreme. Exhaustion lurked behind excessive energy and hyperactivity, accentuated by the degradation of the medical profession. It was also natural that my family and my responsibility to them [...]
