The Women's Heart Bus arrives in Mulhouse on June 1, 2022

The Women's Heart Bus arrives in Mulhouse on June 1, in partnership with the town council and local health services. After touring 5 towns in 2021, this mobile screening and prevention operation will visit 20 towns in 2022. This initiative is being developed by the Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes endowment fund, which aims to save the lives of 10,000 women over 5 years. Cardiovascular disease is still the leading cause of death among women in France, killing 200 French women every day, or 75,000 women a year - the equivalent of the population of La Rochelle. And yet cardiovascular disease is preventable in 8 out of 10 cases, through screening and appropriate treatment. The Women's Heart Bus reaches out to the most at-risk populations, women in vulnerable situations, offering them free screening and reintegrating them into a dedicated healthcare pathway.

"The study we carried out among women in vulnerable situations during the 2021 Women's Heart Bus tour showed that 90% of them combine at least two cardiovascular risk factors. This means that, sooner or later, they will become ill if nothing is done to control these risk factors. The Bus' mission is to give these women back the means to take care of their health, by integrating them into a cardio-gynecological care pathway with local healthcare professionals, mobilized around cardiovascular disease in women." A launch conference will be held on the forecourt of the Palais des Sports on June 1 at 11:30 a.m.

THE SYSTEM: BUS DU CŒUR DES FEMMES AND VILLAGE BIEN-ÊTRE & SANTÉ

From June 1 to 3, at the Palais des Sports, 16 Bd Charles Stoessel, the Bus du Cœur des Femmes will offer a 7-step screening program for women in vulnerable situations. 1 Welcome: presentation of the route and awareness-raising documents, distribution of the screening booklet.
2 Cardiovascular risk: blood pressure measurements, identification of cardiovascular warning symptoms
3. metabolic risk: measurement of weight, height and abdominal perimeter, blood glucose and lipid levels
4. addictology: screening interview (alcohol, smoking, etc.)
5. gynecology: interview and identification of high-risk situations, including gyneco-obstetrical aspects
6 Assessment: collection of the screening booklet and proposal of a care pathway if necessary (letter to the GP, appointment with a cardiovascular doctor and/or gynecologist or midwife, etc.).
7. distribution of a bag containing health information sheets (prevention brochure) and an arm blood pressure monitor (with a demonstration of how it works) supplied by Axa Prévention

Health and well-being stands will be open to all over the 3 days. It will feature numerous information, prevention and well-being stands, run by health professionals such as :
