Women's Heart Day

In addition to the Women's Heart Bus tour (an initiative supported by local authorities) and with the aim of further reducing gender inequalities in health, the Women's Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation has been running, since 2024, the Women's Heart Day (JOCF). This national prevention and screening campaign in 6 steps aims to bring preventive medicine into healthcare facilities — in mainland France, overseas territories and abroad — and thus speed up the deployment of complete and effective care pathways with a single goal: prevent rather than cure.

A travelling awareness and prevention campaign on cardiovascular and gynaecological diseases, the Women's Heart Day includes a fully equipped screening device, designed to reach women in vulnerable situations.

A cardiovascular and gynaecological screening in 6 steps

The Objectives

  • Screen, inform and reintegrate women into a cardiovascular and gynaecological care pathway.
  • Fit into the local dynamic (rural area or city), working hand in hand with local stakeholders.
  • Showcase the expertise of the host facility.

The Process

  • 1 or several days
  • 1 screening in 6 steps
  • 1 Wellness Space with local partners around various themes: nutrition, physical activity, first aid, stress management…

Practical info

  • Beneficiaries: 65 women/day (prior registration) of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, far from care pathways.
  • Average duration: 1h30/person
  • Location: All over France (mainland and overseas) and in all countries

Project bearer(s)

Hospital, University Hospital, Clinic, Care Centre, Multidisciplinary Health Centre, Care Home (EHPAD), Territorial Professional Health Communities (CPTS)… in order to benefit from on-site human and logistical resources and ensure that screened women can be quickly re-engaged in a care pathway when needed.

This action is funded by the Women's Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation through donations received from companies and from public generosity. The project bearer provides the venue and the healthcare professionals required to run the action. Project coordination is provided jointly by a Foundation team member and the project bearer.

The 2026 schedule

Piloted in 2024, the Women's Heart Day grew significantly in 2025.

In 2026, 65 Women's Heart Days will be deployed across mainland France and overseas territories thanks to the energy and commitment of facilities, healthcare professionals and volunteers.

Goal: screen over 4,000 women in 2026
